Monitoring pore pressure in Sogndal

In 1958, construction was completed on the Loftesnes bridge in Sogndal, a highly important connector along Rv.5. Now the Norwegian road authority (Statens vegvesen) is building a new bridge in close proximity to the existing one, and work on the foundation is already underway. Under commission from K.A. Aurstad AS, Cautus Geo has recently delivered a system for automatic monitoring of pore pressure in relation to piling work being performed from a barge. The system consists of a total of 6 piezometers, which are installed at various depths under the seabed and are set up to send SMS or email warnings following significant changes in pore pressure.
